Nosferatu. Eine Symphonie des Grauens

Nosferatu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens.
RESONATOR presents a full length, live soundtrack of all original music performed on various pieces of digital and analog machinery.

Anja Kreysing sets the foundation for the film score with a beautiful and classic accordeon line: the theme for the film’s young couple Nina and Jonathon.

During the course of the film, the accordeon is supported, later replaced by synthesized soundscapes, sampled fragments of voices, electronic instruments and other sources of sound to give the film an additional layer of modern sound and feel.

Nosferatu – about the film

Nosferatu was the world’s first full length horror movie. It was conceived and directed by German director Friedrich W. Murnau in 1921. The script is based on an unauthorised adaptation of the classic Bram Stoker “Dracula” story.

Various versions of the original film exist, some feature different titles than others and even a colorized version (where different scenes are tinted in different colored duplex tones that seem fairly random at times) has been made, alledgedly approved by the director.

Essentially there are two different versions, the older (original) one calls the Nosferatu “Count Orlock” instead of the name used in the later version “Count Dracula”. There are other variations in names and some titles even give a different explanation of the story but we won’t tell you all this before you see the film…

Nosferatu (1921): the first vampire movie in beautiful expressionist black and white hues receives a new interpretation through the soundtrack by RESONATOR.
